Adnams

The history of Adnams brewery starts officially on 1872, as the brothers George and Ernest Adnams bought the Sole Bay brewery from William Crisp. Beer has been brewed at the same site for a lot longer - the first written notes date as far as year 1345! Adnams is still a family business and situated in Suffolk, roughly 150km North-East from London, on the East Coast of England.

Barcelona Beer Company

Barcelona Beer Company is a small craft brewery in stunning Barcelona. They brew their beers with the best ingredients and unbelievably fresh water which comes from the Montseny Natural Park. The style is clean, crisp, light on the body and well balanced - great beers for the sunny days in the summer of just to bring a bit of sun in your life during the long winter months.

Belhaven

Belhaven is the oldest still operational brewery in Scotland. They have been brewing quality beers since 1719. The brewery is in Dunbar, right in the middle of the rolling barley fields of East Lothian, roughly 30 km away from Edinburgh.

Bierbrouwerij De Koningshoeven – La Trappe

The La Trappe authentic Trappist beers have been brewed at Onze Lieve Vrouw van Koningshoeven Abbey since 1884. The monastery was founded by a small group of French monks who found refuge in Berkel-Enshot in Brabant. They settled in the moorland with some farmhouses and a sheep barn, formerly owned by King Willem II (Koningshoeven = kings farmhouses in Dutch) and soon the monastery was built.

Bitburger Brauerei was founded 1817 near Luxemburg border and is still 100% owned by the same family, now the 7th generation is in charge. This family brewery has grown to be one of the largest brewery groups in Germany and Bitburger Braugrup now has multiple breweries, e.g. Köstritzer Scwarzbierbrauerei and Licher.

Brasserie du Val-Dieu

The Val-Dieu Brewery is located at the Abbey of Notre-Dame du Val-Dieu, nestled at the foot of the Ardennes and near the borders of Germany and the Netherlands. Founded in 1216, the abbey is the only Belgian Cistercian monastery to have survived the French Revolution. The abbey remains a place of Christian activity, although the last three monks left in 2001.

Brouwerij Boon

The history of Brouwerij Boon extends as far as 1680's- The roots are on a farm in Lembeek and lambic and faro have been brewed there since the very beginning. After some colourful phases, year 1927, the brewery was bought by Mr. Josez De Vits.

Brouwerij Huyghe

The history of Brouwerij Huyghe starts in 1902 - but beer has been brewed on the site since 1654. Leon Huyghe arrived from Poperinge to Melle and started to work at the local Appelhoek brewery. Just four years later Leon bought this brewery and changed the name into Brouwerij-Mouterij den Appel.

Kazematten is located within the old ramparts of the city of Ypres, which boasts a rich brewing history. The last brewery in Ypres closed its doors in 1976, leaving the city without its own brewery until 2014, when Brouwerij Kazematten began operations. Buxton Brewery Company

Buxton Brewery is located in a town by the same name, nesting comfortably on the edge of the Peak District National Park. The brewery brewed their first ales in 2009 - with a modest 40 litre first brew. The recipes were created, modified and re-made, test batches brewed and a year later the first "official" batches were released to the market.

Ets Guillet Frères (Kerisac)

The French cider producer, family company Cidrerie Kerisac is in Gouenrouet, roughly 30 km north from Nantes. Kerisac produces traditionally made quality ciders, using only apples from Bretagne and traditional, very labour intensive production methods. We have in our selection their Cidre Breton, lightly filtered - slightly hazy - dry apple cider.

Healey’s Cornish Cyder Farm

Healey's is the largest independent cider producer in Cornwall. This family company was founded in 1980 and the first apple trees of their own were planted in 1986. The estate itself is already 150 years old and one of the goals of this family is to create new life in this beautiful, traditional farm.

Het Anker

Het Anker is one of Belgium’s oldest breweries, with roots dating back to 1471, when the beguines of Mechelen brewed beer in a local hospital. In 1872, the Van Breedam family purchased the brewery and modernized it, while preserving its historical foundations. The fifth-generation brewer, Charles Leclef, sold Het Anker to another family-owned brewery, Brouwerij Huyghe – best known for Delirium Tremens – on Boxing Day 2024.

The Scottish brewery Innis & Gunn comes from Edinburgh. This innovative and inventive brewery is best known for their well-balanced barrel-aged beers. The selection has been systematically expanded and now Innis & Gunn is one of the leading breweries in the UK.

Kasteel Brouwerij Vanhonsebrouck

The history of the Vanhonsebrouck brewery dates as far as early 1800's,  when Amandus Vanhonsebroudk had a brewery in the village of Werken. His son Emile first continued to run the brewery, but started soon his own brewery with his wife Louise. This brewery was built in Ingelmuster, in 1900.

Klosterbrauerei Andechs

The monastery was decided to be founded on the ruins of an old castle, on top of the Holy Mountain of Andechs - already at the end of the 14th Century. The funds were raised and finally seven monks vere sent to the site from Tegernsee in 1455. They brought with them also the know-how about brewing to the new monastery.

Krombacher

The Krombacher family brewery can be found in the small village of Krombach, roughly 100 km east from Cologne. The first written records about the brewery date from the start of the 19th Century, but there has been brewing activity in the village for hundreds of years before. Schadeberg family has owned the brewery for generations now.

Lyme Bay Winery specializes in producing mead, also known as honey wine, using very traditional methods. In addition to mead, they also produce wine, fruit wines, liqueurs, and a small selection of spirits. Traditional ciders are also part of their product range.

Mallaskoski

At Mallaskoski the sun doesn't shine, life isn't rosey, nor people shoot the breeze. In 1921 the founder of the brewery, Johan Wallenius, started the making of his beverages in a dreary washhouse in the centre of Seinäjoki town. In 1928 Wallenius decided to buy land next to rumbling falls near by, and built a factory there.

Marston’s (Carlsberg Britvic)

Marston’s is a highly respected and traditional brewery that has been shaping beer history in Burton-upon-Trent, England, since 1834. Burton is renowned for the quality of its water and is often considered the spiritual home of British brewing. Over the years, Marston’s acquired numerous breweries and grew into one of the largest players in the UK brewing industry.

Oskar Blues

Oskar Blues began as a brewpub in 1997, although beer production didn’t start in the restaurant’s basement until 1999. In 2002, Dale Katechis (the brewery’s founder and owner) began canning their flagship beer, Dale’s Pale Ale, and the success story took off. Oskar Blues was one of the first craft breweries of the new wave to choose cans over bottles.

Palm

The history of Palm dates back to 1686. At that time, Theodoor Cornet ran an inn in Steenhuffel, where he also brewed beer. In 1747, the brewpub was converted into a village brewery and renamed De Hoorn. The brewery suffered severe damage during World War I, and for economic reasons, it was rebuilt to produce only top-fermented beers.

Pivovar Samson

Pivovar Samson was founded in 1795 in the city of České Budějovice. The brewery was originally established by the city’s German-speaking residents. In 1872, it began exporting to the United States, making it one of the first Czech breweries to do so.

Robinson’s Brewery

Robinson’s began its operations at The Unicorn pub in Stockport, Cheshire, in 1849. Throughout its entire history, the brewery has remained independent, and today the sixth generation of the family is actively involved in the business. The brewery is now especially well known for its renowned Old Tom Strong Ale, as well as the Trooper range of beers, created in collaboration between Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson and Robinson’s head brewer.

Rodenbach

Brouwerij Rodenbach was founded in 1836 by Pedro Rodenbach and his wife Regina Wauters. Soon after, Eugène Rodenbach joined the brewery. He extensively studied beer vinification techniques, and it is thanks to him that Rodenbach developed its unique and remarkable brewing style.

Saku Õlletehase

Saku is the oldest beer producer in Estonia, the history dates back to 1820. Then the Count Karl Friedrich Rehbinder who owned the Saku manor set up a small brewery there. By 1899 Saku had become the largest brewery in North Estonia and they had built their own railway between Saku and Tallinn.

Schneider Weisse

Schneider Weisse is the oldest wheat beer brewery in Bavaria and they still are a family brewery as well. These days the sixth generation is in the helm and the 7th generation is also involved already. The brewery is in Kelheim, north from Munich.

St. Bernardus

The roots of St. Bernardus brewery lead to a dairy founded in the early 1900's by Trappist monks who came from Mont des Cats, France. After the monks returned to France, the dairy was taken over by Evariste Dekoninck and he continued the cheesemaking the monks had started.

Stone Brewing was founded in San Marcos, California, in 1996. They have become a benchmark brewery for their hoppy, aromatic beers and West Coast IPA would not be a style it is now without them! Stone also had some activity in Europe, when they opened up a brewery in Berlin 2016.

The Flying Dutchman NoMad Brewing Co.

If you have been working with speciality beers in Finland for a bit longer, Ronald de Waal is a well known caracter. The Flying Dutchman was already in the nineties one of the most influential persons in the Finnish beer scene and he has been in the forefront in developing the Finnish beer culture. Ronald has been brewing quality beers already for over 25 years in Finland, Belgium and in Holland.

Thornbridge

The British craft brewery Thornbridge started their operation in 2005 in Derbyshire, roughly in the middle of England, approx. 25km south from Sheffield. In the beginning Thornbridge operated in the stately mansion of Thornbridge Hall, but has since moved to bigger premises just outside the historic village of Bakewell.
