Krombacher

The Krombacher family brewery can be found in the small village of Krombach, roughly 100 km east from Cologne. The first written records about the brewery date from the start of the 19th Century, but there has been brewing activity in the village for hundreds of years before. Schadeberg family has owned the brewery for generations now.

The beers are brewed at the original site, using the famous spring water from nearby Mount Rothaar and according to the German beer purity law, the Reinheitsgebot. The unique spring water, Felsquellwasser®, is very soft and low in mineral content. This natural spring water is filtering through multiple layers of stone before it is used – untreated – in Krombacher beers, giving them their unique freshness.

The flagship beer in Krombacher portfolio is undoubtedly Krombacher Pils. Pleasently balanced, beautifully hoppy, nicely malty, traditionally brewed using the Felsquellwasser®  spring water. The traditional recipe and modern know-how come perfectly together in this Germany’s most favourite premium pils.
