The Val-Dieu Brewery is located at the Abbey of Notre-Dame du Val-Dieu, nestled at the foot of the Ardennes and near the borders of Germany and the Netherlands. Founded in 1216, the abbey is the only Belgian Cistercian monastery to have survived the French Revolution. The abbey remains a place of Christian activity, although the last three monks left in 2001.
Val-Dieu Brewery is a fascinating, relatively small brewery that produces its high-quality and flavorful beers in the traditional way — without haste.
